My Proven Track Record of Community Service:

  • I'm 56 years old and a lifelong resident of Ampthill. Following severe illness during the 1990's I have been passionate about doing more for my community
  • I work for a local community development Charity 

I've served Ampthill in the following capacities over the past 22 years: 

  • Ampthill Town Mayor (2005/2006)
  • Ampthill Town Councillor (1997 to the present)
  • Mid Beds District Councillor (2007 to 2009)
  • Central Bedfordshire Councillor (2011 to 2015 and 2019 to the present) 

I'm a Trustee/Committee Member of local voluntary groups that include: 

  • Ampthill and District Good Neighbours - Founder and Chairman of this community care scheme, whereby those that can help voluntarily offer assistance to those in need in Ampthill and Maulden
  • Ampthill Festival - Committee member for over 20 years
  • Mid Beds Citizens Advice - Volunteer and now a trustee 

Some Recent Ampthill Achievements as a Town Councillor 

  • Grants - successfully applying to Central Beds Council's 'Market Town Regeneration Fund' for funding for new Town Signage and the Creation of a Heritage Trail
  • Grants - successfully applying to Heritage Lottery to fund the amazing WW1 Tommy's Footprints project
  • Community Engagement - as the chair of the new Ampthill Town Council Community Engagement Committee I am driving new Business Initiatives (between the Town Council and Ampthill Business Chamber) and Youth Initiatives (including plans for greater input into Town Council decision making and the creation of annual youth awards)
  • Continually keeping residents informed - via my Ampthill.Info initiative
